Overview
Since starting my lead UX and digital design role at AECOM, it was my top priority to create a UI design system so that all our digital products can have a consistent look and user experience.
Although there are many systems already out there, our UI elements were designed with the AEC (Architecture Engineering Construction) industry in mind, which is always content heavy with tables and datas. This was also an opportunity to create a design system for the AECOM brand as it is a necessity for digital solutions and transformation.
I branded our system as “Foundation” Design System, which is a reference to a foundation of a building in this industry, but of a digital foundation for digital products. This design systems is being used by all of our team’s products and at a global level.
